I began working in radio during college, picking up weekend on-air shifts while interning with a location station’s promotions team, but my ties to the industry go way back. Thanks to my dad’s job, I grew up as a “radio brat,” following him to live broadcasts, community events and plenty of concerts.
That college internship turned into a full-time job — hosting the night show on WCKY in Findlay, Ohio — even before graduation. In January 2008, I joined WFGF in Lima as midday host and promotions director. Other stops have included KOMG and KOSP in Springfield, Mo., and WQAL and WDOK in Cleveland.
Most recently, I spent five years (May 2013-January 2019) as a morning show host on Buffalo, N.Y.’s WYRK. Clay and Liz Mornings was consistently ranked as the No. 1 radio morning show in the Buffalo-Niagara market, and earned an audience of about 100,000 listeners. In 2018, we were voted Buffalo’s favorite morning show in a contest run by WIVB-TV.
During my time at WYRK, I also served as a correspondent for all of Townsquare Media’s local country stations and its nationally syndication night show, Taste of Country Nights, at the 2018 ACM and CMA Awards. My interviews from those events were broadcast on Townsquare-owned stations across the country.
