Liz’s Kitchen: French Onion Bubble-Up Chicken Recipe

Posted on March 12, 2019March 12, 2019 by Liz Mantel

These are the best last-minute dinner recipes! They are easy to throw together and are super tasty and super filling. My roommate introduced these to me because her specialty is crescent rolls and biscuit doughs. This recipe is from PlainChicken and it’s altered just a tidge for shopping ease. This is one of the recipes that you just have to pass on…and let your mind wander when it comes to bubble-ups! any protien and any flavor combo will work!

The reason this is a great last-minute meal is the shortcuts you can take! Make the prep easy and grab a precooked chicken! The rest is just “assembling” rather than cooking! Trust me, your house will smell like you have been cooking all day long!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken
  • 1 can (10.75oz) Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup sour cream French Onion Dip
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (12oz) refrigerated Grands biscuits

Cooking hack for this part – grab a cooked rotisserie chicken from the store and save a whole bunch of time. Cut the chicken into similar medium to small pieces  (as much as you can).
  • Next, take your biscuits and cut them each into 8 pieces.
  • Combine chicken, biscuits, soup, dip, and cheese. Make sure they’re mixed well.  Place them in a greased 9×13 and sprinkle the french fried onions on top.
  • Cook for 35 minutes at 350, making sure the biscuits are fully cooked.
  • Remove from oven, let cool and enjoy!

I thought about this recipe all.day at work, and boy, did it pay off! I baked it a little longer than the recipe called for, to ensure that the biscuits were fully baked. It was so, so simple, and so, so tasty! Two thumbs up!
