Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough or hard bread I use Wegman's Garlic Tucson
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 bag mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 and chop parsley. Melt butter, garlic, parmesan, and salt together in a bowl.  Then mix in the parsley with the butter mixture.
  • Next, take the bread and cut diagonally deep but not all the way through. Then turn the bread and cut again and in a criss-cross pattern.
  • Take the cheese and place in between the rows and pour a little bit of the butter mixture on top. You'll want to do this for all the rows making sure to get into the crevices.
  • Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and uncover bread and place back in the oven for 10 more minutes.
  • Pull out, let cool, and then dig in! It makes the perfect snack or appetizer! Feel free to mix it up and add pepperoni or other favorite treats!
